AHMSA is the only producer of tinplate in Mexico.
Tinplate, low carbon steel sheet (base metal) coated on both sides by a thin layer of tin by an electrolytic process. Since tin adheres firmly to the base metal, tinplate can be pressed, stamped, punched and bent into complex shapes, without peeling off the tin layer.
The product complies with the ASTM A-624 standard and is supplied in rolls of up to 12 metric tons or cut in sheets.
