AHMSA maintains the operation of its steel plants in Monclova, Coahuila, and its extractive activities of the minerals that are distributed as follows: coal in the center and north of Coahuila; iron in Coahuila, Chihuahua and Durango; silver and gold in Hidalgo; copper in Michoacán.

The main demand of AHMSA products is in the national market. A part of our production is exporting the United States the main claimant.
AHMSA participates in the hot rolling market and aimed at the industrial sector and distributors; is the only producer of the national plate that is demanded in the energy, automotive and industrial sectors; also produces tinplate and chrome plating used in the food industry and mainly household appliances; and finally manufactures heavy profiles aimed at the construction industry and infrastructure.
The Company's operations in Mexico are subject to the Environmental Laws. Since 1998, Mexico has adopted legislation on ecological matters, which includes provisions for the contamination of water, air, soil, noise, the use of hazardous materials, the handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, as well as safety and employee health.
In 2017, the LAU (Licencia Ambiental Única, in Spanish) was updated in the different operating units of the Company.
In 2017, the Incidence Rate for 200 million hours worked was 1.1, below the rate of the American steel sector represented by the AISI (American Institute of Iron and Steel) which was 1.5 during the same period.
The reference calculation follows the guidelines of OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration), which was determined as follows: the total number of accidents divided among the workers, multiplying the result by 200,000 (hours).
The company maintains a permanent social commitment that translates into quality of life, since 1992 it has been governed by this philosophy that regulates its operational activities exceeding the requirements of law and allows interaction with different levels of government and civil society organizations, in order to coordinate actions for the benefit of its workers, their families and the communities in their environment.
AHMSA and its subsidiaries direct their investment and social participation programs to environmental care, education, health, urban cleaning, public safety, culture, sports and recreation. The successful system of collection and confinement of urban garbage in the Central Region of Coahuila stands out in this regard. Likewise, it supports the annual program of communal activities conjugated with the Government of Coahuila, for the realization of formative courses of different order, improvement of educational and recreational facilities, and the presentation of shows, with accent in the mining localities .
As a proactive environmental action, the company maintains two large-capacity nurseries in operation, in which indigenous species are generated to support the reforestation work itself and to support community improvement with the delivery of copies to governments, schools and civil organizations. In addition, the maintenance of five ecological ranches -Fresnillo, Fénix, Chuparrosa and Salsipuedes, in Coahuila, and La Candelaria, in Sonora, habitat registered as Animal Management Unit (UMA, in Spanish), with proliferation of flora and more than 10 thousand copies of different species.
Since its privatization, AHMSA has not paid dividends. The Company intends to reinvest its profits and does not plan to pay dividends in the near future.
On May 16, 2016, the first judge of first instance in Monclova issued the judgment for the lifting of the Company's Suspension of Payments. The judgment is based on the general payment agreement presented by the Company on December 17, 2014 and was approved without opposition by the majority of creditors. This agreement establishes the payment of 100% of the rights recognized and not capitalized, within a period of 3 years from the date of the judgment.
